MONOCRYL® is an absorbable, undyed monofilament suture comprised of a synthetic material called Poliglecaprone 25. The material is derived from copolymer of glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone. This suture has a medium tensile strength and due to being absorbable, should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required, such as in fascia.
MONOCRYL® Sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation where an absorbable material is indicated.
